Journey from Aswan to Luxor: A six-day exploration
Aswan Luxor
Saturday November 25th.
All Arrive Aswan.
Minibus to meet individual flights at airport and transfer to your preferred hotel.
Overnight Aswan.
Day 1. Sunday November 26th.
8am. Minibus depart hotel. Visit Abu Simbel Temple – day trip (4-hour drive one way, 2-hour visit, lunch at individual cost, 4-hour drive back to hotel). The impressive temple of Abu Simbel was moved piece by piece from the Aswan dam site and is now a UNESCO heritage landmark. We will see the Ramesses II temple, dedicated to his beloved queen, Nefertari.
Overnight Aswan.
Day 2. Monday November 27th (full moon)
8am minibus depart to Philae Isis temple, built by Ptolemy III with dedicated special access and private time inside, minibus back to hotel.
5.30pm mini bus at Artika Wadi Kiki Hotel (Anna’s hotel) for 6pm departure, 2 hr Private Nile River boat cruise in the light of the full moon.
8pm. Minibus depart boat jetty to return to your hotel.
Overnight Aswan.
Day 3. Tuesday November 28th.
6-7am minibus departs Aswan to Kom Ombo temple (1-hr drive), doubly dedicated to the gods Sobek and Horus, then on to Edfu temple (2-3 hr drive).
1pm Edfu temple, dedicated to the god Horus.
3pm depart in minibus to Luxor (2.5-3hr)
Arrive Luxor and check into your preferred hotel.
Overnight Luxor.
Day 4. Wednesday November 29th.
9am Minibus to visit Karnak temple, and Luxor museums, both dedicated to the god Amun-Ra, and maybe other temples.
3pm Return to hotel.
Overnight Luxor.
Day 5. Thursday November 30th.
8am Minibus (about 45-mins) to Valley of the Kings. Special for being royal burial ground for pharaohs such as Tutankhamun, Seti I, and Ramses II, as well as queens, high priests, and other elites of the 18th, 19th, and 20th dynasties.
You will have plenty of time to wander around and do your energy work here!
3 or 4pm. Return to hotel for free time rest of afternoon.
Overnight Luxor.
Day 6. Friday December 1st.
Minibus transfer hotel to Luxor Airport.
Fly to Cairo.
On arrival Cairo, minibus transfer Cairo airport to your preferred hotel. Free day.
Overnight Cairo or depart Egypt.

8am Depart for Great Giza pyramids with dedicated special access and private time inside (access to King’s Chamber, Queen’s Chamber and the Well (the last two otherwise closed for public) & Sphinx. Saqqara temple, Red Temple and other temples. Full day tour.
Return to your preferred hotel.
Overnight Cairo.
Cairo Day 2. Sunday December 3.
8.30am Depart for Cairo Museum, which houses the largest collection of Egyptian antiquities in the world, with a representative amount on display. Located in a building built in 1901, it is the largest museum in Africa. We then drive to the Khan el Khalili Bazaar in the historic center of Cairo. Established as a center of trade in the Mamluk era (14th century) and named for one of its several historic caravanserais, the it has since become one of Cairo’s main attractions.
Rest of afternoon free (time and interest permitting, we may be able to get tickets to the billion-dollar state-of-the-art Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza scheduled to be opening around this time. Please let us know your preference).
Return to your preferred hotel.

Monday December 4.
Minibus transfer to depart Cairo airport. How have you changed? Who will you be, that is different to who you were when you arrived? Where did you expand? What insights will you be taking home with you? Gifts from and of the heart.
Flights
In addition to your round-trip flight costs from your home country to Egypt, which lands at Cairo’s international airport, you’ll also need to organize a local flight to Aswan airport. It’s imperative that you arrive no later than Saturday, November 25th, as this is when we will initiate our Nazareine Wisdom Circle Retreat with our opening ceremony (early evening).
If you’re planning to extend your journey to the Cairo retreat (optional add on amount US$ xxx), you will need to arrange a connecting flight from Luxor to Cairo on Friday, December 1st, 2023. For those who would like to fly back to Cairo from Luxor together, we are sending a list of recommended flights within the next few days.

Notes for Travelers
- Given that we’ll be traveling in a minibus, we recommend you bring along a suitcase of approximately 56cm x 36cm x 23cm (22” x 14” x 9”) in size;
- Lunch and dinner are for your own account, you will need to pay in Egyptian pounds;
- We will have a kitty in Egyptian pounds for tips, will let you know amount nearer the time;
- Please consider taking out travel insurance, if you have not already done so;
- Feel free to bring your own soap and shampoo if you have specific preferences. There are conveniently located stores nearby where you can easily purchase them.
- We recommend that you check the visa requirements and consider purchasing it online or upon entry through the official Egypt government website at https://www.visa2egypt.gov.eg/
- Please ensure that your passport has a minimum validity of 6 months.

Your 2023 Nazareine Wisdom Circle Retreat includes the following:
- Transportation between airports and either of the suggested hotels;
- Minibus to all venues;
- English-speaking guide,
- All temple entrance tickets;
- All travel permissions, taxes and security detail; and
- Private Nile cruise where indicated.
